Canada set up a “racism” helpline. So, we absolutely called it.

British Columbia, Canada, set up a “racism” helpline in an effort to support individuals experiencing racist events, microaggressions and feeling unsafe after encounters.

We used a story we’d reported on previously as a backdrop – a story where an Asian woman complained she felt unsafe after a co-worker asked her if she liked sushi – and… of course, we called the helpline.

This is how it went.
